Obagi Blue Peel RADIANCE
Unveil your skin's natural glow with a clinical-grade radiance boost.
Service Description
The Obagi Blue Peel Radiance is a professional-grade, superficial chemical peel designed to exfoliate the skin, boost cell turnover, and improve overall skin clarity with minimal downtime. What Is the Obagi Blue Peel Radiance? Unlike deeper TCA (trichloroacetic acid) peels, the Blue Peel Radiance is a salicylic acid-based peel (typically ~20% concentration) formulated alongside small amounts of glycolic and lactic acids. Because salicylic acid is lipophilic (oil-soluble), it penetrates deep into pores to dissolve excess sebum and debris. Primary Benefits: Unclogs pores, refines skin texture, fades post-acne marks (PIH), reduces mild hyperpigmentation, and smooths fine lines. Skin Suitability: Safe for most skin types and Fitzpatrick skin tones (I–VI). Procedure & Downtime: The entire in-clinic process takes 45 minutes. Patients generally feel a mild warmth or tingling for 3–5 minutes during application. Light, subtle peeling or flaking typically begins 48 hours post-treatment and lasts 2–5 days. For best results, multiple treatments are recommended 2 - 4 weeks apart. Bundles can be purchased at check out ( 3 sessions + 1 FREE). Key Contraindications: While this peel is gentle compared to medium or deep chemical peels, several absolute and relative contraindications must be evaluated before proceeding: Salicylate / Aspirin Allergy: Anyone with a known allergy to salicylates, aspirin, or beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs) must avoid this peel. ~ Not recommended for women who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or nursing. ~ Use of systemic Isotretinoin (Accutane) within the last 6 to 12 months poses a high risk of scarring or impaired skin healing. ~ Presence of active cold sores (Herpes Simplex), active warts, open wounds, severe eczema, or active inflammatory rosacea in the target area. ~ Recent sun exposure, active sunburn, or heavy tanning within 2 weeks prior to treatment increases the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. ~ Impaired Skin Barrier: Compromised, excessively dry, or raw skin from recent aesthetic procedures (e.g., strong lasers, microdermabrasion, or recent waxing within 1–2 weeks). ~ Recent Active Topical Skincare: Ongoing use of strong topical prescription retinoids (Tretinoin, Tazorac, Differin) or strong exfoliating acids without a 5 to 7 day washout period. Also the use of non-prescribed retinoids and Vitamin C products (best to stop the use of these 5 - 7 days prior to this treatment).
