The Art of the Forehead: Why Placement is Everything at Brook Aesthetics

When it comes to anti-wrinkle treatments, the forehead is often the first place we look—but it’s also the most complex to treat. Achieving that perfectly smooth, "rested" look without losing your ability to show emotion (or accidentally dropping your brows) isn’t just about the product; it’s about precision placement.
At Brook Aesthetics, we don’t believe in a "one-size-fits-all" grid. Your anatomy is unique, and your treatment should be too. Here’s a look behind the scenes at how we map your forehead for the most natural, high-fidelity results.
The Balancing Act: Elevators vs. Depressors
Think of your upper face as a game of tug-of-war.
The Frontalis: This is the large muscle across your forehead. Its only job is to lift your eyebrows. When it contracts, it creates those horizontal "surprise" lines.
The Glabellar Complex: These are the muscles between your brows (the "11s"). They are depressors, meaning they pull your brows down and in.
The secret to a great result is maintaining the balance. If we relax the forehead too much without addressing the downward pull of the frown lines, your brows can feel heavy. This is why we almost always treat the forehead and the glabella together to ensure your brows stay right where they belong.
Strategic Placement for 2026
In 2026, the "frozen" look is out. "Micro-dosing" and "Hyper-targeted placement" are in. Here is how we customise your map:
Zone | Our Strategy | The Result |
The High Zone | Injections placed closer to the hairline. | Smooths deep lines while keeping the lower forehead mobile for natural expression. |
The Lateral Tail | Precise drops above the outer tail of the eyebrow. | Prevents the "Spock" look (where the outer brow arches too high) while keeping the eye open. |
The 2cm Safety Buffer | We stay at least 2cm above the orbital rim. | This is the "golden rule" to prevent brow ptosis (heaviness) and ensure your eyelids don't feel tired. |
The "V" or "II" Pattern | Matching the unique shape of your muscle bellies. | Some people have a split in their forehead muscle; we find yours and treat only the active tissue. |
Why "Less is More" Matters
We often hear clients say they want their lines gone but still want to be able to "look surprised." By using micro-aliquots(tiny, precise droplets) rather than large volumes in one spot, we can:
Soften, don't freeze: Soften the shadows of the wrinkles while allowing the muscle to move slightly.
Extended Duration: Precision placement in the "muscle belly" ensures the toxin works efficiently, often helping results last the full 3–4 months.
Prevent Migration: Placing the product at the correct depth (intramuscular vs. superficial) ensures it stays exactly where we put it.
What to Expect at Your Consultation
Before the needle even comes out, we do a dynamic assessment. We’ll ask you to raise your brows, scowl, and squint. This allows us to see exactly where your skin "bunches" and where your muscle is strongest.
Pro Tip: If you have a naturally "heavy" brow or a lower hairline, we’ll often focus your treatment higher up on the forehead to avoid any weight on the brow area.
